[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 3 March 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 3 March 2022:

- 2 deaths

- Related to:

  1. Female, aged 72 years, who died on 2 March
  2. Male, aged 55 years, who died on 3 March

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 861.

- 144 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in OCHS hospitals

- 33 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/14 intubated, NICU: 18)

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 58.34%

- 17 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in an ICU.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 98,468 diagnostic tests

- A total of 2,046 new cases were identified (total cases 328.657)

- Positivity rate in all tests 2.08%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):[/B]

- 3.352 molecular tests

- 258 positive cases

- Positivity rate 7.7%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- 95.116 rapid antigen detection tests

- 1.788 positive cases

- Positivity rate 1.88%

Tracing:

- 197 molecular tests were performed and 25 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 12,69%)

- 616 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 57 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.25%)

Private initiative:

- Conducted 1.719 molecular tests, 193 positive cases detected (positivity rate 11.23%)

- 41,322 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1.155 positive cases (positivity rate 2.8%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 53,794 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 633 positive cases were detected.

- Sampling points: 13,809 rapid detection tests detected 402 positive cases (positivity rate 2,91%)

Education

- Primary education: 19.850 rapid antigen detection test, 60 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.30%)

- Secondary Education: 12.135 rapid detection tests detected 77 positive cases (positivity rate 0.63%)

- Test-to-Stay: 3.809 rapid antigen detection tests and 33 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.87%)

- Special Schools: 627 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and no positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.00%)

Other

- Welfare homes: 1.672 rapid antigen detection tests, 1 positive case detected (positivity rate 0.06%)

- Closed facilities: 203 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1 new case detected (positivity rate 0.49%)

- Closed facilities: 203 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1 new case detected (positivity rate 0.49%).

- Government services: 1 1.073 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 2 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.19%)
