[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 26 February 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 26 February 2022:

- 4 deaths

- Related to:

  1. Male, aged 83 years, who died on 25 February
  2. Male, aged 84 years, who died on 26 February
  3. Female, aged 73 years, who died on 26 February
  4. Female, aged 90 years, who died on 26 February

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 852.

- 152 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in the hospitals of the OCYP

- 32 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/12 intubated, NICU: 19)

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 60.93%

- 24 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in an ICU.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 98,933 diagnostic tests

- A total of 1,606 new cases were identified (total cases 318.773)

- Positivity rate in all tests 1.62%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):[/B]

- 6.263 molecular tests

- 231 positive cases

- Positivity rate 3.69%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- Performed 92.670 rapid antigen detection tests

- 1.375 positive cases

- Positivity rate 1.48%

Tracing:

- 45 molecular tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 6.67%)

- 1.045 rapid antigen detection tests and 59 positive cases detected (positivity rate 5,65%)

Private initiative:

- 1.729 molecular tests, 165 positive cases detected (positivity rate 9.54%)

- 54.559 rapid antigen detection tests, 859 positive cases detected (positivity rate 1.57%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 38,111 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. A total of 516 positive cases were detected

- Sampling sites: 36.809 rapid detection tests detected 457 positive cases (positivity rate 1.24%)

Other

- Welfare homes: 257 rapid antigen detection tests performed, no positive cases detected (positivity rate 0%)
