[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 24 February 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 24 February 2022:

- 1 death

- Related to:

  1. Male, aged 86 years, who died on 23 February

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 834

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 834.

- 167 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in OCHS hospitals

- 37 in serious condition (ICU: 1 off ventilator/15 intubated, NICU: 21)

-

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 59.29%

- 23 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in an ICU.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 110,229 diagnostic tests

- A total of 1,935 new cases were identified (total cases 315.341)

- Positivity rate in all tests 1.76%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):[/B]

- 7.085 molecular tests

- 289 positive cases

- Positivity rate 4.08%

Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- 103.144 rapid antigen detection tests

- 1.646 positive cases

- Positivity rate 1.6%

Tracing:

- 376 molecular tests were performed and 36 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9,57%)

- 745 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 59 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.92%)

Private initiative:

- Conducted 1.935 molecular tests, 203 positive cases detected (positivity rate 10.49%)

- 47,076 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1.023 positive cases (positivity rate 2.17%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 56,068 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 623 positive cases were detected.

- Sampling points: 17,663 rapid detection tests detected 364 positive cases (positivity rate 2,06%)

Education

- Primary education: 20.699 rapid antigen detection tests, 96 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.46%)

- Secondary Education: 9.517 rapid detection tests detected 47 positive cases (positivity rate 0.49%)

- Test-to-Stay: 4.414 rapid antigen detection tests and 38 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.86%)

- Special Schools: 666 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 6 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0,9%)

Other

- Welfare homes: 1.058 rapid antigen detection tests, 8 positive cases detected (positivity rate 0.76%)

- Closed facilities: 261 rapid antigen detection tests performed; 3 new cases detected (positivity rate 1.15%)

- Closed facilities: 261 rapid antigen detection tests performed; 3 new cases detected (positivity rate 1.15%).

- Government services: 1.045 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 2 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.19%)
