[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 19 February 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 19 February 2022:

- 4 deaths

- Related to:

  1. Male, aged 90 years, who died on 18 February
  2. Male, aged 75 years, who died on 18 February
  3. Female, aged 88 years, who died on 19 February
  4. Male, aged 82 years, who died on 19 February

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 823.

- 160 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in OCHS hospitals

- 37 in serious condition (ICU: 2 off ventilator/11 intubated, ICU: 24)

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 66.88%

- 28 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in ICU

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 80,454 diagnostic tests

- A total of 1,764 new cases were identified (total cases 304.425)

- Positivity rate in all tests 2.19%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR): [/B]

- Performed 6.954 molecular tests

- 256 positive cases

- 3.68%

- Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- 73,500 rapid antigen detection tests

- 1,508 positive cases

- Positivity rate 2.05%

Tracing:

- 107 molecular tests were performed and 10 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.35%)

- 1.366 rapid antigen detection tests and 72 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 5,27%)

Private initiative:

- 2,141 molecular tests were performed, 193 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 9.01%)

- 40.372 rapid antigen detection tests, 890 positive cases detected (positivity rate 2.2%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 33,128 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 618 618 positive cases were detected.

- Sampling points: 31.546 rapid detection tests detected 537 positive cases (positivity rate 1.7%)

Other

- Welfare homes: 216 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 9 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 4.17%)
