[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Health on new cases of COVID-19, 17 February 2022

The Ministry of Health announces that today, 17 February 2022:

- 4 deaths

- Related to:

  1. Female, aged 67 years, who died on 16 February
  2. Male, aged 63 years, who died on 17 February
  3. Male, aged 89 years, who died on 17 February
  4. Male, aged 93 years, who died on 17 February

- Total number of deaths with a terminal cause of COVID-19: 802.

- 168 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in OCHS hospitals

- 43 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/12 intubated, NICU: 31)

- Percentage of inpatients with no history of vaccination: 66.08%

- 29 patients who ceased to be infectious continue to be intubated due to COVID in an ICU.

Diagnostic tests:

- A total of 99,502 diagnostic tests

- A total of 2,200 new cases were identified (total cases 300.435)

- Positivity rate in all tests 2.21%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):[/B]

- 7.389 molecular tests

- 311 positive cases

- Positivity rate 4.21%

- Total number of rapid antigen detection tests (RapidTest):

- Conducted 92.113 rapid antigen detection tests

- 1.889 positive cases

- Positivity rate 2.05%

Tracing:

- 255 molecular tests were performed and 22 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 8,63%)

- 928 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 74 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.97%)

Private initiative:

- Conducted 1.880 molecular tests, 208 positive cases detected (positivity rate 11.06%)

- 44,060 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 1.157 positive cases (positivity rate 2.63%)

Through the Ministry of Health programmes, 48,053 rapid antigen detection tests were performed. 732 positive cases were detected.

- Sampling points: 18,367 rapid detection tests detected 516 positive cases (positivity rate 2,81%)

Education

- Primary education: 20.490 rapid antigen detection test, 74 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0.36%)

- Secondary Education: 2.196 rapid detection tests detected 12 positive cases (positivity rate 0.55%)

- Test-to-Stay: 3.035 rapid antigen detection tests and 34 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 1.12%)

- Special Schools: 488 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 3 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0,61%)

Other

- Welfare homes: 1 1.049 rapid antigen detection tests, 12 positive cases detected (positivity rate 1.14%)

- Closed facilities: 248 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 2 new cases detected (positivity rate 0.81%)

- Closed facilities: 248 rapid antigen detection tests performed, 2 new cases detected (positivity rate 0.81%).

- Government services: 1.252 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 5 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0.40%)
