The references to the militarization of Cyprus by the Foreign Minister of Turkey, which has kept tens of thousands of soldiers illegally in Cyprus for five decades, are understandably provocative.

The Republic of Cyprus prioritizes the maintenance of security in the region and condemns the Turkish attitude.
