The Ministry of Defence announces that a National Guard Petty Officer, under circumstances under investigation, was seriously injured while carrying out maintenance work on a vehicle of his unit at the Andreas Papandreou Air Base.
He was given first aid on the spot and was evacuated by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital, where he is in a critical condition.
His relatives have been informed about the incident.
An investigation has been ordered to determine the causes of the accident.
