[PIO] Announcement by the Ministry of Defence regarding an accident at the Sias Firing Range

During a planned exercise at the Sias Firing Range, a Mercedes jeep-type vehicle, with a Lieutenant and three Contracted Soldiers (SYOP) on board, which was travelling on a carriageway within the Firing Range, under circumstances under investigation, veered off course and overturned.

The overturning of the vehicle resulted in minor injuries to three of the four occupants, who were taken to the Larnaca General Hospital and the Nicosia General Hospital as a precautionary measure, where they underwent all the necessary examinations. At the end of the examinations they were released without anything serious or worrying being found.

The General Staff of the National Guard (GNF) is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
