The Inspection Service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, in the context of the effort to combat undeclared work and control compliance with basic labour legislation, informs that during the month of October 2023, targeted inspections will be carried out on a nationwide basis in agriculture/ livestock farming/ wholesale markets/ packaging plants.
The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of all those involved in these economic activities regarding the consequences of undeclared work and non-compliance with the provisions of the relevant legislation. At the same time, checks will be carried out on compliance with the basic conditions of employment (salary, working hours, weekly off, etc.)
It should be noted that according to the provisions of the relevant legislation, if an undeclared person is detected in the Social Security Fund, an administrative fine of €500 multiplied by seven months is issued, unless it is proven by the employer that the period of infringement was shorter. If it is proven that the period of violation was longer, the fine is multiplied by the actual months.
It is recalled that the nationwide telephone line 77778577 accepts anonymous/anonymous complaints/information in connection with undeclared work or violation of the terms of employment.
