1. As previously announced, the Independent Authority against Corruption ("the Authority") had decided to conduct an ex officio investigation into the allegations contained in the above-mentioned book concerning possible acts of corruption. 2. To this end, the Authority has appointed the following 4 persons as Inspecting Officers with Terms of Reference to conduct the investigation and whose CVs are attached to this Notice:

3. The Inquiry will be led by Gabrielle Mclntyre. 4. Gabrielle Mclntyre, originally from Australia, now residing in England. She is considered an expert in international criminal law and procedure, international human rights law and administrative law. He first arrived in Cyprus on Monday, 12 February 2024, at the invitation of the Authority, where he remained until Friday, 16 February 2024. He does not have any links with Cyprus. During that time an agreement between the 2 parties was reached and he received the Terms of Reference for the Investigation. 5. Charilaos Chrysanthou, is a Lawyer registered since 2000, and maintains his own Law Office. He has extensive experience in handling criminal and civil cases. 6. Orestis Nikitas is a Lawyer, registered since 2003, and has his own Law Office. Since November 2020 until today he is the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association. He has broad experience in criminal and civil law matters. 7. Andreas Efthymiou, is a registered Lawyer and maintains his own Law Office in Larnaca. He provided his legal services as Chief Legal Associate/Researcher to the Investigative Committee on the Collapse of the Cooperative Credit System (Aresti Committee), as well as to the Investigative Committee on the Exceptional Naturalisations of Foreign Investors and Entrepreneurs (Nicolatos Committee). He is a member of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association. 8. All of the above Inspecting Officers have received the Terms of Reference from the Authority and have undertaken that they have no conflict of interest of any kind in relation to the facts they will investigate. 9. The Terms of Reference include all allegations of the existence of corruption which are contained in the Mafia State Book, which fall within the scope of the Authority's powers as recorded by statute. 10. Already the team of Inspectorate Officers has started work organising the course of the Investigation and Ms Mclntyre will be back in Cyprus on 3 March 2024. 11. At this time, the Authority will not make any statements on this Inquiry.
