22 December 2023 marks three years of implementation of the Public Sector Right of Access to Information Law of 2017 (Law 184(I)/2017) and the operation of the Information Commissioner's Office.
The right of access to information held by the public sector has been established with the ultimate aim of controlling the Public Administration, triggering the obligation of accountability and transparency that it must demonstrate in the performance of its duties.
During this period, my Office organised training seminars for officials indicated by the public authorities, approved a total of 264 draft publications, examined 68 complaints, issued 17 Decisions and responded to a large number of written and oral questions.
Annual reports and useful material are available on the website of the Information Commissioner's Office.
In addition, my Office is available to the media for further information and briefings.
