As already announced by the Management Committee of the Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Energy Saving Fund (EX.E), the computerization of the application evaluation process for "CATEGORY A3: Photovoltaics for All" of the "Grant Scheme for Encouraging the Use of Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Saving in Residential Buildings 2024-25" has been completed and the sending of pre-approvals to applicants has started.
On this occasion, the Consumer Protection Agency of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry reminds consumers who have received or are expected to receive pre-approval to conduct the required market research to enable them to make the most advantageous choice. To this end, it is noted that price should not be the only criterion, since particular attention should be paid to the performance of the photovoltaic system and its other technical specifications. Given the large number of Participating Marketers included in the catalogues of the Scheme, many alternative options are offered to consumers and therefore appropriate market research is necessary in order for each consumer to make the best possible choice.
Finally, it is recalled that the total amount of investment covered by the Scheme is up to €5,000 and that any expenditure beyond this amount will have to be paid by the applicant directly to the Participating Trader. Consumers are therefore advised to note that there is a wide price variation and that systems are available on the market within the amount covered by the aid.
