It is with great pleasure that we signed today the Contract for the construction of the road network in the area of the new football stadium in Kolossi and the road network connecting to the National Road Network.
The project was awarded, following a competitive tender, to Iacovou Brothers (Constructions) Ltd, at a cost of €9.1 million (including VAT). The implementation of the Project is scheduled to start in February 2022, with an execution period of 19 months.
The Project is located in the Limassol district and includes Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, Tasou Isaac Street and four new ramps to and from the motorway (A6) according to the construction plans.

Specifically, it concerns the improvement/reconstruction of the road network in the area of the new football stadium in Kolossi, the creation of ramps to and from the National Road Network, as well as the creation of three new roundabouts.
The project will be executed in three successive phases.
The first phase will last nine months and includes the following construction works:
- Construction of an exit ramp from the motorway in the direction from Limassol to Erimi, with priority access to North Epirus Road.
- Construction of an exit ramp from the motorway in the direction from Paphos to Limassol, with priority access at Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue.
- Improvement / widening and extension of Spyrou Kyprianou Street.
- Improvement of Tasou Isaac Street from 0+000 to approximately 0+470.
- Construction works on an existing network outside the project limits.
Phase 2 will last six months and includes the following construction works:
- Improvement of Tassos Isaak road from 0+470 to approx.
- Construction of an entrance ramp from Spyros Kyprianou Avenue to the motorway in the direction from Paphos to Limassol.
The third phase will have a duration of four months and includes the following construction works:
- Construction of an entrance ramp from Tassos Isaac Street to the motorway in the direction from Paphos to Limassol.
- Horseshoe turnaround at the end of Lofos Street.
- Underground Pedestrian Crossing.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The new football stadium currently under construction in the Kolossi area is an announcement by the President of the Republic and as a project that will enhance the Limassol District, we must ensure that all supporting construction works are put in place to accompany it and better serve both fans and residents of the area.
Citizens need to see announcements translated into action and translated into projects, ensuring that they are for their benefit. I am confident that the Contractor, in collaboration with the Ministry's Public Works Department, will work hard to ensure that the established timelines are met and all the requirements of this important project are implemented.
