It is a special pleasure for me to be with you today, at this charity event and the concert "Melodies of Love" by the renowned young tenor Ioannis Livanos.

Ioannis, who has a special love for classical music, was distinguished from an early age for his unique talent, the wonderful tone and melodiousness of his voice. A talent, which he made sure to cultivate and develop, succeeding in developing important collaborations and honoring our country through international distinctions. In addition to his special talent, I would particularly like to highlight John's love for people, since, despite his young age, despite the successes he has experienced in a short period of time, he always remains grounded and stands out as a noble, sensitive artist, who connects his own success with his contribution to his fellow man.

This is reflected in the title of tonight's concert "Melodies of Love", which is linked to a special cause. Flanked by great artists, musicians and dancers, John will lead us on a musical and dance journey of love, giving and supporting the important work carried out by the foundation "Little Heroes" and "Europa Donna" Cyprus. A commendable work, which is linked to the daily support of our fellow human beings suffering from cancer. Considering the difficulties they have to face, both for themselves and their families, this project takes on even greater dimensions.

In this struggle, we all stand as allies and supporters. Because the daily battle of these people must be a battle that we all fight together, each in our own way.

The Government, showing particular sensitivity, stands as a companion in this effort, supporting cancer patients through a coherent policy, while taking targeted decisions that strengthen the prevention and effective treatment of this disease.

Our country is fortunate to have great scientists, who are internationally renowned for their contribution to the treatment and fight against cancer and leukaemia. In the above context, the new distinction of Dr. Loizou Loizou, who was recently included in the list of the top 100 opinion leaders on childhood cancer and whom I warmly congratulate from this platform, is a great honour for our entire country. At the same time, by giving hope to every patient, this distinction underlines the important role that Cyprus can play globally for the advancement of medicine.

It is also significant and touching that representatives of the charity Metera Stuttgart are here tonight. In continuation of the other charitable activities developed by the members of the organization, they travelled these days together with their President Mrs. Dimitra Kiakou from Germany to Cyprus, in order to support with their selfless contribution the activities undertaken by "Little Heroes" and "Europa Donna" Cyprus.

Friends,

I would like to congratulate and thank Ioannis Livanou for undertaking this beautiful initiative, the co-organizers, who believed in his vision, the Municipal Councillor Mr.

Thanks and congratulations are also due to the President and members of Europa Donna Cyprus, to Mr. Loukas Fourla, the initiator of the Little Heroes initiative, and to all those who support the great work they do. Their action becomes a force that strengthens the effort that some of our fellow human beings need to make until they win their own struggle. And this gives us hope that together we can make a better world.

I am absolutely sure that we will enjoy a unique evening of music, but more importantly, through the melodies, we will merge our hearts and share love. Good listening to everyone. Thank you.
