I am delighted to be here today to see the results of an educational institution, which has been successfully implemented for the third consecutive school year in the historic Pancyprian High School, with its evolution into a Full Day School of Interdisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Learning, in the framework of the STEAM educational approach. This is an innovative approach, which is another step towards achieving our goal of a modern, student-centred and inclusive school.

The upgrading and improvement of the Day School is one of the most important actions we have undertaken, with the aim of starting the next school year with new data. The value and importance of the Full Day School is a given both educationally and socially.

Since September we have increased the number of Optional Full Day Schools in Primary Education from 220 to 228 and the number of pilot Full Day Schools in Secondary Education from 2 to 5. The pilot Full Day School in Secondary General Education, with children working together to solve problems and learn through the actual application of knowledge and skills in a variety of settings, has already yielded the first positive results. Therefore, and in the context of what is foreseen in the Governance Programme for the gradual expansion and upgrading of the institution of Full Day School with the ultimate goal of its universal implementation in Primary Education and its pilot implementation in Secondary Education, we have already promoted and are implementing pilot implementation in four other secondary schools nationwide: Lanitio Gymnasium of Limassol, Evryviadeio Gymnasium of Larnaca, Nicolaideio Gymnasium of Paphos and Paralimnios Gymnasium. In this way we extend the institution of STEAM schools in all cities and promote the STEAM approach in the general curriculum. At the same time, through STEAM schools, we invest in autonomous and experiential learning and help our children to develop basic skills and cultivate a critical and creative spirit, elements which are part of our broader educational policy to shape an educational system in which everyone will have the opportunity to cultivate their talents and abilities to the maximum extent through flexible and innovative learning processes. Our children are the future of our country and we have to offer them an education oriented towards tomorrow with the technological and scientific discoveries that characterize our time. At the same time, the education offered should highlight our historical and cultural path in the world. These two parallel aims are fostered by the programmes of the "STEAM" and "Greek Language and Culture" sections of the Interdisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Learning Day School. In the "STEAM" Direction, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics are the springboard for conducting research and finding innovative solutions to complex problems of everyday life. At the same time, in the Direction "Greek Language and Culture" the qualitative upgrading of the production of written and spoken language, in the context of the exploration of various topics and the engagement with the intellectual materials, the historical and artistic achievements of people.

The result of the successful action of the two directions we have the opportunity to see today in this "All-inclusive" introduction to the All-day School of the Pancyprian Gymnasium. Knowing the progress of this School and expressing confidence in the success of today's event, I would like to thank the former Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Mr. Prodromos Prodromou and his colleagues for their significant contribution to the promotion of this institution.

Based on the evaluation of the institution and its continuous monitoring, we are ready to expand and develop it for the benefit of children and the improvement of learning outcomes.

I would also like to thank the Directorate of Secondary General Education, which has undertaken the organization and supervision of the institution's operation, as well as the Directorate of the Pancyprian Gymnasium, which strongly embraced the operation of the All-Day Gymnasium.

Congratulations to the organizers of today's event and first of all to the children, who trusted in the pioneering institution of the All-Day High School and today demonstrate its value through their actions, as well as to the teachers, pioneers, guides and companions on their path to learning and success.
