Following the emails received by public schools last Friday, the Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, Ms. Athena Michaelidou convened a wide-ranging meeting at the Ministry today, which was attended by the Director General, Mrs. Marina Ioannou Hasapi and the Directors of all Directorates and Services of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (MESY).
The Minister first thanked the Director General and all the Directors of the Directorates and Services of the Ministry for the immediate actions taken to manage the situation, always keeping in mind the safety of students, teachers and other staff in our schools, which is one of the most important priorities of the Ministry. She expressed special thanks to the school management teams and teachers for the effective implementation of the action plan activated in these cases, as well as to the Cyprus Police for their actions.
Ms Michaelidou gave instructions for the immediate and immediate updating, strengthening and simplification of this action plan, in cooperation with the Police, based on the experience of last Friday.
