On Monday, 9 October 2023, at 9.20 a.m., the 6th Session of the House of New Representatives will take place in the plenary session hall of the House of Representatives, under the presidency of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs.The House of Representatives, wishing to make the Parliament a space accessible to all citizens, supports actions that enhance transparency, pluralism and citizenship and, above all, aims at a more substantial and effective relationship with our young people and youth, as well as at highlighting the various problems faced by civil society in modern times. It is in this context that the Cyprus Parliament supports the institution of the House of Young Representatives.
The institution of the House of Young Representatives is managed by the Cyprus Youth Council and the Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY, sponsored by the Cyprus Youth Organisation. It is a peculiar simulation of the House of Representatives, aiming at the more active participation of young people in public life and thus their inclusion in decision-making centres. The reports prepared by the parliamentary committees of the House of Young Representatives are integrated into the National Strategy for Youth, allowing young people to be directly involved in the political life of our country.
The session will be addressed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives during the official opening ceremony of the plenary session of the 6th Session of the House of Young Representatives at 9.30 a.m.
