The Directorate of Secondary General Education announces that the student Leoni Bella Vassiliou, of Aradippou High School, has won the 1st World Prize in this year's competition for the celebration of World Food Day with the theme: "Our actions are our future - Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life". The student with the guidance and encouragement of her Home Economics teacher managed to secure this commendable global distinction. This activity was one of the proposed activities of the "FAO" (Food and Agriculture Organization) to promote World Food Day. The collective action in 150 countries is what makes World Food Day one of the most important days in the UN calendar.
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth encourages activities that promote educational objectives related to the development of healthy lifestyles and aims to help students form healthy eating attitudes and acquire the knowledge and skills to make choices that improve health, promote well-being and prevent disease and health problems.
