On 6 September 2023, the 12th meeting of the EU Military High Schools took place at the Representation of the European Commission in Cyprus, in the framework of the European Security and Defence College.
The meeting was organized by the Security and Defence Academy of the Ministry of Defence with the assistance of the Delegation of the European Parliament and the European Commission in Cyprus.
The meeting was attended by delegations from 8 Military High Schools from Italy, Latvia, Portugal and Romania. Among others, the first three winners of the 2nd Essay Writing Olympiad of the Forum presented their papers and were subsequently awarded prizes.
The aim of this forum is to bring all military secondary schools in direct contact and cooperation, to create common modules (such as EU history, EU core values, CSDP and EU Global Strategy) and to integrate them into the curricula of military high schools.

Furthermore, the exchange of best practices and the promotion of a common European security and defence culture.
Although the Republic of Cyprus does not have military high schools, it actively contributes to European education for the development of a common European security and defence culture. At the same time, it is at the forefront of several activities of the European Security and Defence College, under which the Military High Schools initiative is also included.
