Four arrests after drugs and property found in Paphos apartments

Four persons were arrested by members of the police, after being found in two residences in Paphos, quantities of drugs, as well as property, such as jewellery, watches, laptops, and mobile phones, which are being examined as to whether they are the product of theft.

Specifically, at around 8.30 yesterday evening, members of the Paphos YCSA, acting on a court warrant, conducted a search of an apartment in which a 44-year-old man

resides,[/B] in the presence of him and three other persons, men aged 41, 35 and 24, who were in the apartment. During the search, 56 packets of methamphetamine weighing 101 grams in total, 18 packets of cannabis weighing 54 grams in total were found on the balcony of the apartment,5 grams, cannabis resin of one gram, two packets of cocaine totalling three grams, and 54 tablets believed to be "Ecstasy" pills.

A gross quantity of a further 40 grams of approximately crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine was found on the coffee table of the apartment, while 164 pieces of jewellery, 26 watches, and nine portable computers, two of which were tablet-type.

The four suspects denied any involvement regarding the drugs recovered, anddid not provide adequate explanations for the property recovered in the apartment. They were arrested by members of the YKAN for self-incriminating offences.

A search was then carried out in the apartment of the 24-year-old suspect, where police members found 28 mobile phones, another four portable computers of tablet type, two electronic devices and a GPS device, as well as the sum of money of 1,200 euros. For the possession of the recovered items and money, the 24-year-old gave allegations which are being investigated.

The four suspects were taken into custody, with the YKAN's Pafos YCAN Unit and the Pafos CID continuing their investigations.
