The maintenance and restoration of every historical monument and building highlights the cultural and multicultural history of our city and, by extension, of our country.

As the Municipality of Larnaca reports, in this context and following the initiative of the Bicommunal Technical Committee for Cultural Heritage, maintenance work has recently begun on the Ottoman Hammam of Larnaca, located in the area of Agios Ioannis, near Hamit Bay Square. The works are being implemented with the financial assistance of the European Union and will last from 6 to 8 months.

This action aims to save this important monument, which over the years has suffered serious damage and whose character testifies to the richness of our multicultural heritage.

In this context, the Bicommunal Technical Committee is planning restoration works on the adjacent fountain next to Hamit Bay Square. In addition, the Municipality of Larnaca is planning restoration works in this square.

The Municipality of Larnaca publicly expresses its thanks to both the President Mr. Sotos Ktori and the Members of the Bicommunal Committee for Cultural Heritage for their actions and efforts to save an important part of our history.
