Recall that according to the statement of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, the Russians carried out their strike on the tower located near a large memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. "TV networks will not work for a while", but "backup" systems will allow some TV sets to restore transmission soon, the ministry added.
Videos show the tower enveloped in thick grey smoke. The main structure of the building, however, remained standing.
The broadcasting hardware related to the TV tower was hit, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said in a statement on Facebook. "Channels will be off air temporarily [] THE ENEMY MAY TRY TO SPREADS MISINFORMATION AND DESTABILIZE THE SITUATION." https:/t.co/gYZtlznAX0 pic.twitter.com/d0k06tTkEm

For its part, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called Russia barbaric after the attack on the tower located near a memorial to the Babi Yar victims, site of one of the largest massacres of Jews during the Nazi Holocaust. "Russian military forces attacked the TV tower near the memorial to the victims of Babi Yar," he said on Twitter. "Russian criminals stop at nothing, continuing their brutality. Russia = barbarians."
The TV tower is in the same neighborhood as the Babi Yar site, a ravine where the Nazis killed more than 30,000 Jews in two days in 1941. The site is an important place of remembrance.
"These barbarians are slaughtering the victims of the Holocaust for the second time," the head of Ukraine's presidential administration, Andrei Yermak, denounced on Twitter.
