The Ukrainian armed forces said they shot down a Russian Air Force[/B] fighter jet[/B] as the invasion has now entered its sixth day.
Five Russian fighters and a helicopter were shot down yesterday, according to Ukrayinska Pravda and the Ukrainian Air Force on Monday.
This information cannot be independently verified.
The aircraft were reportedly shot down during air raids on the cities of Vasilkiv and Brovary, in the area around Kiev. A cruise missile and a helicopter were shot down near Kiev, according to the same sources.
For their part, Ukrainian aircraft proceeded to launch surface-to-air missiles and drop bombs against Russian tanks and infantrymen near Kiev and near the town of Zhitomir. Bombs were also dropped in the northern Chernigiv region and in the southern city of Berdyansk, which was occupied by the Russian army.
