Eight puppies found in the buffer zone were rescued on Monday by members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), who took them to a dog shelter in Nicosia.
According to a social media post by the British contingent of UNFICYP, British Army peacekeepers working for the United Nations in Cyprus rescued eight puppies this morning, which they found in the buffer zone and handed them over to the team at the Nicosia Dog Shelter.
"Not all heroes wear cloaks, some wear camouflage," the British posting said on Twitter."
The post was accompanied by a video showing a soldier rescuing a puppy standing on the edge of a river in the mud.
Another post stated under a photo of a soldier hugging one of the puppies that this lucky puppy, will soon, be able to make someone's life "a little more fulfilling!"
