Ukraine in a state of emergency for 30 days The decision was taken today by the Security Council of Ukraine
The Security Council of Ukraine decided to declare the country in a state of emergency, according to international media reports.
According to the Russian agency Tass, the implementation of the state of emergency applies to all regions of the country, except for the Donetsk and Luhansk provinces.
Ukraine began today to recruit reservists aged 18-60 after President Volodymyr Zhelensky issued a decree to this effect, the Ukrainian armed forces said in a statement.
The maximum period of their recruitment is one year.
Zelensky announced yesterday, Tuesday, the recall of reservists, but ruled out a general recall after Russia announced it was moving its troops into eastern Ukraine.
Ukraine has more than 200.000 reservists in addition to the 250,000 members of its regular armed forces.
Refusal by reservists to report during a draft without a reasonable reason will be punished with "administrative and criminal sanctions," the armed forces specified.
Kiev also today called on its citizens to leave Russia as soon as possible in a context of "intensifying Russia's attacks against Ukraine," the Foreign Ministry explained in a statement.
Nearly three million Ukrainians live in Russia, according to Ukrainian estimates.
