Two minors were trapped in a 150-meter ravine in Troodos -Catalytic intervention of the Police

Immediate and catalytic was the help of members of the Police, in rescuing two underage children, aged 11 and 15, who were trapped in a 150-metre deep ravine in Troodos.

The tip-off given to police at around 12.30pm reported that two minor boys, while they were playing in a spot near the snow bank, due to the icy ground, slipped and ended up in a gorge 150 metres deep.

A citizen who was in the area called for help, resulting in him slipping and ending up in the ravine as well.

The Police were called to the scene, where members of the Troodos and Platres Police Stations, using the crawler rescue vehicle, managed to extricate the children, who were transported to a safe place, where they were handed over to their guardians.

The citizen managed to climb out of the ravine before the arrival of the Police.
