Ukraine's neutrality and a comprehensive peace agreement are on the table, Turkish Foreign Minister says

Russia and Ukraine are continuing talks on signing a "comprehensive peace agreement", Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Thursday after a trilateral meeting with the two countries' foreign ministers in Antalya.

"There are many issues that Russia and Ukraine are discussing, including the neutrality of Ukrainians. And the signing of a comprehensive peace treaty is also on the table," Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a press conference after a meeting with Lavrov and Kuleba. At the same time, he stressed that Ukraine wants Turkey as a guarantor in the peace treaty with Russia.

Cavusoglu said the meeting was not held in an "easy environment" and "a miracle should not be expected from such meetings."

During the talks, the Turkish foreign minister stressed that humanitarian corridors in Ukraine must remain open without any obstacles, adding that Russia and Ukraine met at the ministerial level for the first time since the start of the war on February 24.

The top diplomats also discussed a possible meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Cavusoglu said.
