The statements of the Istanbul University of Culture professor Hassan Koni, revealing the desires and anguish of some Turkish men from the war in Ukraine, are causing sensation and shock in Turkey.
Speaking to Habertürk about the refugee crisis caused by the Russia-Ukraine war, Kony argued that Europe cannot handle the problem, saying that the number of refugees will reach 1.5 million people.
And somewhere in there, in the middle of his speech, he stated the provocative and unacceptable: "Of course, our men are waiting for the Ukrainian women to come, but unfortunately they are going to Europe." Realising his foolishness, he then attempted to "patch it up" by saying that what he claimed was done "poetically", causing outrage on social media.
