Turks, via radio, harassed the NH 90 helicopter of the Army Air Force carrying Nikos Chardalias.

The harassment of the helicopter with the Deputy Minister of National Defence inside, took place earlier on Saturday, February 12, in the Eastern Aegean Sea.

According to reports, the helicopter was over Kalolimnos and Farmakonisi. Then, the Turks via radio harassed the helicopter, asking it to change course as they claimed it was flying in Turkish FIR!

However, the Turkish claims were ignored by the Greek helicopter which continued its normal course.

Immediately afterwards, the Samos station replied to the Turkish authorities that their broadcast was illegal, not valid and that the army air force helicopter was flying within Greek FIR.

As is known, the Deputy Minister of National Defence is on a four-day visit to units and surveillance outposts in the eastern Aegean and yesterday he also visited the island of Panagia, which is the focus of the illegal activities of the Turkish air force.

Meanwhile, it was reported today that a Turkish UAV carried out 16 violations of national airspace in the Northeast and Southeast Aegean Sea today, Saturday. The Turkish drone was identified and intercepted in accordance with international rules, according to standard practice.
