Turkey supports his policy on Cyprus and Varosha, says Tatar The occupation leader said Ankara wants a five-year "government" in the occupied territories
Turkey[/B] supports his policy on Cyprus[/B] and the issue of Varosha, said Ersin Tatar adding that Ankara wants a five-year "government" in the occupied territories.
According to WFP, returning from Turkey yesterday, Mr. Tatar made statements at the illegal Tympou airport assessing his meetings and contacts in Caesarea and Ankara.
He said that accompanied by presidents of Turkish Cypriot economic organizations, he visited both the Caesarea Chamber of Commerce and Chamber of Industry, and later held contacts at the city's Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen (MÜSİAD), where he discussed the Cyprus problem. He recalled that representatives of economic organizations also had various contacts and he met with veterans of the invasion from Kaiseri, shopkeepers, businessmen and the public. According to Tatar, such contacts are of great benefit and are important in explaining the position of the pseudo-state and the Cyprus problem.
In Ankara, he added, he met with Vice President Fuat Oktay with whom they discussed issues such as the Cyprus problem, developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the permission given to the Kurdish PYD "by the Greek Cypriot-Greek duo", in his words.
Tatar-Oktai meeting
According to yesterday's Avrupa, in his statements to the T/C "news agency" and "Bayrak" after the meeting with the Turkish Vice President, Tatar said that Turkey will support efforts to increase prosperity in the pseudo-state as it always does.
Referring to the issue of the formation of the new "government", Tatar said that Mr. Oktay hoped for the formation of a stable "government" that would remain in office for five years to implement the necessary structural changes and economic measures and openings that are needed.
He added that Turkey fully supports the two-state policy that he supports and together with Oktay discussed the steps to be taken to consolidate this situation with the messages they will give to the international community together with Turkey in the coming period.
Noting that the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean is being sensitively monitored, Tatar said that some actions by both Greece and the "Greek Cypriot administration", as he described the Republic of Cyprus, continue to cause irritation.
Noting their annoyance over the permission granted by the Republic of Cyprus to the Kurdish PYD to operate in the free areas, he said they would continue to constantly assess the issues and the importance of the situation in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean.
Referring to the issue of the enclosed city of Varosha, Tatar said they continue to follow the same policy, that they shared their annoyance with the concerned partners on some points in the recent UN Security Council resolution and assessed these with Fuat Oktay.
Recalling the resolutions in Turkey's National Security Council (NSC), Tatar noted that Turkey supports the decisions to be taken by the "authorities" of the pseudo-state on both the two-state issue and the issue of the enclosed city of Varosha.
