Trump in favour of vaccines, against compulsory vaccination
The former US president spoke again about vaccines against coronavirus[/QUOTE]
Donald Trump[/B] said today that he opposes any compulsory vaccination against Covid-19, recommending, however, that Americans get vaccinated, during a rare interview on the US national radio network, which he abruptly interrupted by repeating his unfounded accusations of "rigging" the 2020 presidential election.
"The vaccines, I recommend you get them, but I think that should be an individual choice," the former US president told the NPR radio network, a not-so-common choice of medium given that Trump mostly grants interviews to very conservative media outlets.
Against the Biden administration
The Republican, who remains a central figure on the American right, criticized the idea of mandatory vaccination, an option championed by the administration of his Democratic successor Joe Biden.
"Mandatory (vaccination) is really bad for our country," he argued by phone. "It's hurting our economy badly."
Asked about the 2020 presidential election, in which he and his party were defeated, Donald Trump repeated, without evidence, that it was a "rigged election."
In the face of NPR reporter Steve Inskeep, who confronted him with evidence of an election without massive fraud, citing results certified by his own Republican allies, such as in the state of Arizona, the former president reacted: "The number of ballots doesn't mean anything! (The issue) is, who signed the ballots, where the ballots came from."
The billionaire went on to talk about the 2020 election so that voters would be concerned about possible fraud in the midterm elections next fall and in 2024. "The only way to prevent this from happening again is to solve the problem of a rigged 2020 presidential election."
With the reporter pressing him, Trump continued his criticism, but abruptly cut off the interview, saying, "Thank you very much, Steve, thank you."
