Nissi Beach in Ayia Napa has received a new global and European distinction since, according to the travel agency Trip Advisor, it was ranked among the 25 best in the world and 4th in Europe.
A statement from the Municipality of Ayia Napa said that "once again Nissi Beach has been awarded major distinctions in the annual Traveller's Choice Awards presented by the travel agency Trip Advisor. Specifically, Nissi Beach was ranked 22nd among the 25 best beaches worldwide and 4th best beach in Europe."
It is added that "these distinctions are of great importance because the Trip Advisor website is considered one of the best and most authoritative applications worldwide for the evaluation of all aspects of the tourism industry such as beaches, hotels and tourist destinations."
The Mayor of Ayia Napa Christos Zannettou "expressed his satisfaction for the honorary distinction received by Trip Advisor for "Nissi Beach". This distinction is the result of a hard and long-lasting effort that the Municipality of Ayia Napa and all the tourism stakeholders of the free province of Famagusta have made and continue to make for the upgrading of the area and its tourist product".
He also said that "we will continue with the same zeal and determination despite the economic difficulties we face due to the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine to upgrade our beaches and the tourist product of our municipality and our country in general".
