The local community of Karpathos is shocked by the suicide of a 59-year-old father who was bullied by his fellow villagers when he saw his son in a pink video with another man.
According to information from protothema.gr, it all started a few days ago. Residents of the island showed the 59-year-old the video in which his son was depicted having sex with another man. Friends and neighbours, however, allegedly mocked the 59-year-old for the content of the video, leading him to end his life.
According to the same information, the video was allegedly shot and channeled to third parties by the other man involved in it.
He couldn't stand the comments of his co-relatives
At noon on Tuesday, the 59-year-old man went to the stable he had just outside his house with a shotgun. He cocked it, put it to his head and pulled the trigger, ending his life.
The unfortunate man's death was instantaneous. In fact, it was his neighbours who alerted the police and ambulance.
According to reports, the unfortunate man had been losing sleep for the last few days but did not report to anyone what had happened.
According to a friend of the 59 year old man, during the last week he had closed himself in, had lost his spirits and in conversations between friends he kept repeating that he wanted to sell his animals. The unfortunate 59-year-old was well known and loved in the closed society of the island.
