[/QUOTE]Cardboard exercises for the next day of decisions on relaxation of restrictions and gradual return to normality The "marriage" chapter on the table of the Minister of Health and officials The scenarios for full liberalization from the April and beyond The Cyprus Times' information What the President of the Pancyprian Association of Event Professionals says in his statements
With an eye on the course of the country's epidemiological picture and the gradual return to normality, the "marriage" chapter is already in the Ministry's discussions with all relevant bodies.
As mentioned in a previous Cyprus Times publication, Health Minister Michael Hadjipandela, has for the past few days been consulting on the preparation of a special protocol by which entertainment centres - including wedding venues - will allow dancing.
Information from the Cyprus Times reports that during these consultations particular attention was paid to wedding events, which in the last two years have been under severe restrictions, resulting in cancellations in most cases.
More specifically, during Michael Hadjipandela's meeting with all the relevant bodies, the possibility of liberalising measures on weddings from the end of April onwards, if and when the epidemiological picture of our country remains as it is or, even better, improves.
A particularly important factor in any decisions will be the rise in temperature, which is known to limit the spread of the virus because of the open spaces that can be used for events.
Asked to comment on the above, the President of the Pancyprian Association of Event Professionals (PA.SY.EP.EC), Constantinos Mosaikos told the Cyprus Times that "we take it for granted that after April, our own data such as dancing, greeting and the number of people at the wedding dinner will return to normal".
"It is perfectly normal for this to happen since we are already in the process of relaxing the measures and assuming that our epidemiological picture allows it," he noted.
Hajipandela announced relaxations and couples are "rushing" to confirm bookings
Regarding the current situation with wedding arrangements, Mr. Mosaikos, told the Cyprus Times that already since last Tuesday when the relaxations were announced regarding the lifting of the ban on the entry of unvaccinated people and dancing, several couples have made sure to confirm their bookings.
"Those couples who made reservations for their wedding reception, with the new season being from April onwards, immediately after the new relaxations were announced, contacted the venues to confirm their reservations and dates," he said.
In fact, he said, several couples who had postponed their weddings in previous years are now trying to arrange a new date, hoping that things will finally go smoothly.
