On the table were put on the table the recommendations of the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee during the meeting they had early this afternoon with Health Minister Michael Hadjipandela, which concluded a short while ago.

As mentioned in a previous article of the Cyprus Times, the measure "test to stay" was discussed at the meeting, which was proposed to be extended to both hospitals and security forces, such as police and fire brigades.

The extension of the measure finds most experts in agreement so it is expected to go for approval on Wednesday before the Cabinet.

At the same time, as the Cyprus

Times and reported this morning, the measure for rapid testing once a week in kindergartens was qualified by the majority of experts and is also expected to go to the Cabinet for approval. The measure will be optional.

Small relaxations at the table...

At the meeting, issues concerning minor relaxations were raised after a long time, with epidemiologists agreeing that laboratory

PCR

should be replaced with Rapid rapid detection test, if a person is intimate contact and eligible for release on day 7.

Also, as we learn, a proposal was submitted by three epidemiologists to allow small relaxations in the entertainment centres.

For example, it was proposed to allow dancing, so that entertainment centres that were closed due to the restrictions could open. However, it is possible that this measure may not qualify as not all members of the scientific committee were in agreement and it may go back up for discussion next week and after the epidemiological data have been re-analysed.
