Shock has been caused in Ukraine by the news that a member of the negotiating team of Ukraine, during the first round of peace talks in Gomel, Belarus, was allegedly killed by his compatriots after being accused of committing "high treason".
This news was first reported by Interfax. It should be noted that this is news that has not yet been confirmed by official sources, so it is possible that it is part of Russian propaganda.

According to the report, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said that the member of the negotiating delegation, Denis Kireev was shot and killed by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) during his arrest as he was suspected of high treason.
"During his arrest, the Security Service of Ukraine shot and killed the member of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation Denis Kireev. He was suspected of high treason," Honcharenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
In fact, the Ukrainian MP claims that, according to interlocutors in political circles, the Security Service had clear evidence of Kireev's treason, including telephone conversations. It is worth noting that Interfax reports that it has so far not managed to confirm this news.
