Tension continues in the northern part of the West Bank, following last night's coordinated operation launched by the Israeli army in the town of Jenin.
Three Palestinian youths were killed yesterday by Israeli fire in downtown Jenin during an exchange of fire that unfolded while an operation was in full swing to pursue and arrest cells of Palestinian armed organizations operating in the area, including the emerging "Lion's Den" organization.
According to Israeli security forces, a total of 15 Palestinians were arrested throughout the West Bank in the recent operation, which concluded in the early hours of today,[/B] allegedly involved in organizing and carrying out armed attacks against Israeli targets.
Following the end of the Israeli operation, Palestinian news websites published maps allegedly dropped by Israeli soldiers during last night's operation in Jenin.
These maps reportedly marked specific homes of wanted Palestinians who were to be arrested by Israeli forces. The Israeli army press office announced that an internal administrative investigation is underway to determine whether or not the maps in question are authentic.
