Counterfeit banknotes from abroad were about to be received by a couple from Limassol, but they were discovered at the post office.
Specifically, a 24-year-old woman presented herself at the Limassol Post Office today to receive a package on behalf of her 27-year-old boyfriend, which arrived from abroad.
A check carried out by a customs officer revealed that the package contained a bundle of 10 euro notes and the police were informed.
Members of the Limassol CID went to the place, where it was found that within the bundle there were 100 10 euro notes which bore the same number and were counterfeit.
The bundle and the notes were taken as evidence and both the 24-year-old and the 27-year-old were arrested under court arrest warrants and taken into custody.
