Motorcycle theft, illegal possession of property and illegal possession and transport of explosives - 23-year-old man in custody
Police arrested a 23-year-old man yesterday, as part of an investigation into the theft of a motorcycle, illegal possession of property and illegal possession and transport of explosives.
Specifically, around 5.15 yesterday afternoon, citizens spotted two motorcycles without registration plates, moving suspiciously in an area of Limassol and alerted the Police.
Upon the arrival of the police, one driver fled while the second was arrested for identification as he did not have any documents proving his identity.
The 23-year-old suspect and the two motorcycles were taken to Limassol CID, where it was found that one motorcycle had been reported as stolen on 6/3/2022, while investigations are ongoing to identify the owner of the second motorcycle.
Also, during a search, a gold watch and three full cartridges were found in the 23-year-old's possession, and a warrant for his arrest was issued against him, pursuant to which he was arrested and taken into custody.
For the same case, a court warrant has been issued for the arrest of a second suspect, who is wanted.
The 23-year-old was brought before the Limassol District Court today, where a five-day detention order was issued against him.
The Limassol CID continues its investigations.
