The Georgian arrested at Macedonia airport after arriving from Cyprus is not the killer of the Mafia boss after all, the investigators of the Greek Police Authorities He had indeed gone to Greece for a funeral

They caught the wrong man and charged him with the murder of Solonik! This is the news that has been making the rounds of the Greek media since 11 o'clock this morning.

It may seem unbelievable but the 48-year-old Georgian who was arrested on Monday afternoon at Macedonia airport[/B] in Thessaloniki, is not the mastermind of the 1997 murder of Russian gangster Solonik and his beautiful girlfriend, Miss Russia Svetlana Kottova, but a wanted man[/B] for drug cases. Conclusion reached by the Greek police investigators.

The 48-year-old "Greekized" Georgian arrived at 10:58 on Olympic Airways flight 547 at terminal 1 from Larnaca. As mentioned in a previous article, the Greek Police had been informed by the Cypriot authorities, who signaled that the person they were looking for - and probably the 48-year-old for the double murder, was expected to travel on a specific flight via Larnaca to Thessaloniki. Instructions were given to let him travel and the police officers in Thessaloniki were waiting for him at the airport gate.

The arrested man was walking around with papers in the name of Karsliadis Ioakim of Vasilios and Nina with a birth date of 30/1/1974 and the Greek identity card, as it was found, had been issued by the Greek authorities since 2000.

He did not want to tell much to the police officers only that he travelled from Cyprus to Greece to attend a funeral, while 10 years ago he had come back to report to the army!
