Police in Limassol are investigating a case of burglary and theft.

According to information, a 69-year-old Greek Cypriot, reported to the authorities that around 01.30 after midnight, unknown or unknown persons entered his home in the area of Ayia Fyla and took a large sum of money from a metal safe which was located in the bedroom on the 1st floor.

According to the evidence under investigation, they gained entry through a balcony door which was unlocked.

Using a sledge hammer they broke into the safe and extracted the sum of 13.500 euros, and then fled.

At the time of the burglary the tenant was inside the house, but did not notice the offender(s).

From the first moment members of the police went to the house and are conducting investigations.
