He was released on parole, The case has gone to court A case has been filed against a second person who allegedly rented the suite
A son of a business family in Athens was arrested in Thessaloniki after a 24-year-old woman complained that he raped her in a luxury hotel suite.[/B]
The 24-year-old girl crossed the threshold of the White Tower Security Department on January 2 and filed a complaint against the 27-year-old for rape, with the result that a few hours later the well-known businessman was found, the police handcuffed him and then he was brought before a prosecutor and an investigating judge.
By unanimous decision, the 27-year-old was released with restrictive conditions and the case has been brought to justice. A case was also filed against a second person who allegedly rented the suite.
It is worth noting that ten days after the revelation of the gruesome case, a storm of posts has erupted on social media that raise many questions and queries.
In them, a man seems to admit via instagram the incident, even writing details about how the scene happened:
"On New Year's Eve, my colleagues and I organized a party in a suite of a well-known five-star hotel in our city. In an effort to make it a beautiful evening, I stupidly pressured young girls to attend in order to make the evening more beautiful for our friends and clients, who came from Athens for the weekend. The situation went awry during the course of the night resulting in the irreparable mental and physical exposure of a girl I know and I was clearly the pushing cause for her to attend the party. To say the least I owe a huge apology."
"There was a sleeping pill in the drink," says lawyer
In statements to ERT, the 24-year-old's lawyer, Athanasios Ziogas, said that "there was a sleeping pill in the drink, she drank a large dose and the act was done against her will." while stressing that the 27-year-old businessman, who is accused as the perpetrator of the rape, confessed that he is the one who was with the 24-year-old that night, claiming that there was consent of the girl.
"She is in a very bad psychological state, the girl is struggling to stand up in life and in society. The perpetrator was arrested, the restrictive conditions prescribed by law were imposed and the interrogation continues," said Mr. Ziogas.
The 24-year-old girl was summoned yesterday by the fifth regular interrogator to testify about the incident that allegedly took place against her. There she reported that three people grabbed her from the hotel elevator and put her in the room. The interrogator is asked to decide whether the other persons mentioned by the 24-year-old will be called to testify.
