The woman who took care of the baby who "died" yesterday in Limassol is not registered as a home-based pediatrician the incident of sudden death of an infant under investigation

"In connection with the incident of sudden death of an infant under investigation that occurred yesterday in the Limassol District, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare informs that the person named as the child's supervisor at the time of the tragic incident is not registered as a home childcare worker, on the basis of the Children's Law," reads a statement issued by the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare.

As noted, the Social Welfare Services of the Ministry of Social Welfare are in contact with the Cyprus Police to help investigate the incident, within the framework of their responsibilities, in the aftermath of the tragic death that spread grief throughout the country.


"Parents are urged to check for the possession of a registration license to practice the profession of home childcare worker by the persons who take care of their children, in order to ensure that all the necessary conditions for their safety are met," the statement reads.

In conclusion, the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the infant.
