Over 100.000 volunteers have joined up to defend Kiev since the day Russia's invasion began, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said, according to the UNIAN news agency.
This number cannot be independently verified.
Ms. Malyar added that the volunteer units will not be disbanded after the war, but will instead join the Ukrainian armed forces, according to the agency.
