"The scandal with the spy van was covered up" denounce the Ecologists "By decision of the Legal Service the criminal charges against Israeli defendant Tal Dillian and the two Greek Cypriots of the company."

The spy van case is covered up with a fine of €76,000 euros to the company Wispear Systems", for violating legislation on the protection of personal data, the Ecologist-Civic Co-operation Movement said in a statement.

It notes that "by decision of the Legal Service, the criminal charges against the Israeli defendant Tal Dillian and the two Greek Cypriots of the company have been withdrawn."

In a statement, Political Committee member Edmond Hawilla said: "As the Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Co-operation, we believe that the case that shook the sense of security of Cypriot citizens was not given due attention and investigation. The seriousness of the case in question seems to have been 'covered up' once again and it was dropped with a small fine.

Besides, it is not the first time that scandals and cases of this kind have been 'covered up' without the competent authorities assuming their responsibilities.

We recall that the other political parties who for reasons known only to themselves refused to discuss the issue of the spy van from 2019 in the House of Representatives, as well as other spying or intelligence gathering operations (as they are called) in Cyprus. We will insist on investigating the matter and exposing those responsible."
