The frigate has been recently built and is considered an advanced main strike unit of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet
The Russian warship "Admiral Makarov" was attacked by Ukrainian missiles and went up in flames, according to Ukrainian officials. More specifically, as Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko said, the Russian ship was hit by anti-ship "Neptune" missiles while sailing near Fidonisi.
It is noted that the frigate has been recently built and is considered an advanced main strike unit of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy. However, local media in Odessa stressed that a fire occurred on the ship last night in the early morning hours of May 6, resulting in rescue ships and aircraft rushing to the area
At the same time added that the "Admiral Makarov" was engulfed in flames and continued to float. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry in a social media post stresses that Russian forces have lost another ship.
