The President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Anastasiades received today, at the Presidential Palace, the President of the Tenders Review Authority, Mrs. Efi Papadopoulou.
During the meeting, the President of the Authority delivered the annual report of the Authority for 2020, noting that "the Authority always tries to do its best, within the framework of its responsibilities, to ensure that projects that contribute to the development and economy of the country can proceed".
Receiving the report, the President of the Republic thanked the Authority and congratulated it "for the important work you are doing for the progress of development projects. Because they are done by bids and many times there are the challenges or for reasons of formality or legal or other reasons, the role played by the Review Authority is important. What is observed is the delay. We will look at the problems directly in the Council of Ministers so that both the Authority is properly staffed and can perform even better. That is, in its efforts to speed up, it should also have the assistance of the necessary, the indispensable officials that should staff an Authority of similar importance."
Finally, Ms Papadopoulou told the President that the Authority looks forward to his help and he replied that "it is something that I have long been concerned about in order to speed up the procedures."
