The rationale and details of the MoU proposal at the meeting with Kasoulides Borel

Meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borel, had on Monday morning Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides on the sidelines of the work of the Foreign Affairs Council underway in Brussels.

As the Cyprus News Agency was informed by a competent source, Mr. Kasoulides outlined to Mr. Borel the rationale and the philosophy of the MoU package proposed by the Greek Cypriot side, which revolves around the illegal airport of Tymbou and Famagusta.

Mr. Kasoulides explained to Mr. Borel the individual aspects of the proposals and asked for the European Union's help in promoting these MEAs.

The Foreign Minister will also have bilateral meetings with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio and German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock.

During the Foreign Affairs Council, EU Foreign Ministers will discuss the situation in Ukraine and Russia's aggressive moves, and there will be preparatory work and discussion in relation to the sanctions the EU is preparing in case of further aggressive moves by Moscow.

In this context, the Foreign Ministers had a working breakfast with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

Also on the agenda are developments in the Western Balkans, in particular in Bosnia and Herzegovina, climate diplomacy and other topical issues.

Foreign Ministers will also participate in a ministerial-level meeting between the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
