Prince Harry is accused of snubbing his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II after she announced she would miss Prince Philip's memorial service.

As it is known, Prince Philip was the husband of Queen Elizabeth and Harry's grandfather. The announcement comes amid legal wrangling over Prince Harry's protection in Britain.

While a spokesman confirmed that Harry will not attend the service at Westminster Abbey on March 29, he will reportedly attend the Invictus Games starting in the Netherlands just two weeks later.

Royal biographer Angela Levin has accused Harry, who now lives in California with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, of "blackmail" over his grandfather's memorial after the UK government decided not to provide him with police protection when he is on British soil.

The second son of heir to the throne, Prince Charles, "snubbed the Duke of Edinburgh (Philip) but really snubbed the Queen," Levine told British media.

Prince Philip, who was married to the queen for 73 years, died last April just weeks before his 100th birthday. His funeral was held under strict coronavirus restrictions, with only 30 people in attendance, including Prince Harry. The queen sat alone.

Harry's spokesman on Friday did not reveal why he would not be going, but said he hoped to visit his grandmother "soon."

The funeral was one of only two occasions Prince Harry has returned to the United Kingdom since he and his wife Meghan Markle left royal life and moved to North America two years ago.

As a result of their decision, the UK government withdrew taxpayer-funded protection during his visits to Britain, a move Harry is challenging in court.
