President Anastasiades pays official visit to Saudi Arabia President Anastasiades to discuss Ukrainian, Cyprus and bilateral relations
President Anastasiades, accompanied by Government Ministers, is paying an official visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, today.
Yesterday, upon his arrival at Riyadh airport, the President of the Republic was received by the Governor of the capital of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz al Saud, while a military contingent paid tribute.
According to a Presidency statement, the two sides will discuss, among other issues, developments in the Cyprus issue and the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, the situation in Ukraine, bilateral relations between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia, issues related to the energy sector and EU-Saudi relations.
The President of the Republic will have a meeting at noon with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with whom he will hold talks.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides, Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Natasha Pilidou, Deputy Minister to the President Kyriakos Kousios, Deputy Government Spokesperson Niobi Parisinou and officials.
The Crown Prince will then host a lunch in honour of the President of the Republic.
On the sidelines of President Anastasiades' visit to Riyadh, the Foreign Minister and the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry are also expected to hold meetings with their Saudi counterparts.
The President of the Republic will return to Cyprus this evening.
